Get down and dirty at the 2018 Kansas City Dirty Duo 5K. It’s 3.1 miles of mud, mystery obstacles, mud, music, mud and MORE MUD! This year we’ve ADDED a 1K course for individuals of ALL ability levels! Try the 5K or the 1K. It’s up to you!

It all happens at the scenic trails of Unity Village in Lee’s Summit, MO. Your registration includes food, fun, live entertainment, a one-of- a-kind Kansas City Dirty Duo finisher’s medal, a race day t-shirt and a special surprise at the end of the race.

Costumes are encouraged so grab your crew and join us for the muddiest 5K in Kansas City! In addition to the Dirty Duo’s unique finisher’s medal and race day t-shirt, there will also be prizes awarded to the top female and male finisher.

ALL PROCEEDS benefit TNC Community, a non-profit that provides support and care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“We have built quite a following in the years that we’ve hosted the adventure race. It’s a timed race, but you don’t have to be the fastest runner or the highest jumper. This is a fun, family-friendly event that’s open to all ages and
ability levels.” –James Landrum, TNC Community Executive Director

Since 1949 TNC Community, has been providing respite care, habilitation and supportive services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) 24-hours a day, seven days a week. TNC works to continue to champion interdependent living, education and community inclusion for men and women with I/DD.

Those within our supportive care have been diagnosed with severe to profound I/DD. Half (53%) of individuals have a seizure disorder diagnosis. Two in five (38%) have received an Axis I diagnosis, such as a clinical diagnosis. Two in five individuals have been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (34%). Two in five (39%) have Dual Diagnosis, meaning they have a co-occurring intellectual and developmental disability. Two-thirds (70%) use some sort of ambulatory assistive device, such as a wheelchair or a walker. More than half (60%) have minimal speech.
